According to Pedro Daniel, CEO of the Galo, returning to the Conmebol Libertadores after two years competing in the South American competition is the main objective for the season. To achieve this, Atletico Mineiro has three 'paths': Brasileirão, Copa do Brasil, and/or South American. Currently, the Galo is 9th in the Brasileirão with 24 points. 'When we envision protagonism, the main objective of this season is to return to the Libertadores next year. It's our big focus. We're doing all the work possible to achieve it. This is in the short term', said Pedro Daniel to the Máquina do Esporte channel. 'In the medium term, we want to be sustainable within our reality and competitive. The first point is to be on the top shelf. To achieve this, we have to be in the main continental competition'.
