Atletico Mineiro will have to take advantage of the almost month and a half without games during the World Cup break to rest and prepare for the return of the season. Classified to the quarterfinals of the Copa Sul-Americana and the Copa do Brasil, in addition to continuing in the Brasileirão, the Galo will face a intense sequence of games shortly after the start of the second semester. Despite the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) not having detailed the days of the games for the next months, the base dates are already defined and, with this, the club will have to pass through almost eleven games during the end of July and the month of August. The World Cup final will be on July 19, Sunday. Three days later, on Wednesday, the Galo will have its return to the grass, facing Bahia at Arena MRV. Before the end of July, Atlético will face Palmeiras (July 26) and Bragantino (July 29) in the Brasileirão. The only 'break' may occur just this week. This is because Bragantino faces Sporting Cristal (PER) on the date of the game for the playoffs of the Sul-American, and the CBF should postpone the game. The winner of the confrontation will take Galo to the quarterfinals of the competition. In the early days of August, Galo will face the two confrontations of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil against Juventude, on August 1 and 5. The Brasileirão will return on August 9, when Galo faces Remo away from home in the 22nd round. Three days later, Atlético will start the quarterfinals of the Copa Sul-Americana, against Sporting Cristal (PER) or Bragantino. The return game will be on August 19, at Arena MRV, but three days earlier, Galo will receive Grêmio in the Brasileirão. The sequence of games in August ends with two games, against Internacional (August 23) and Vitória (August 30). If they advance in the Copa do Brasil, Atlético will still have commitments in the quarterfinals between the end of August and the beginning of September, further increasing the load of games. The games of the quarterfinals of the Sul-American are scheduled to take place between September 8 and 10 (first leg) and September 15 and 17 (return leg). The Atlético squad entered vacation after the 1-0 win against Vasco on the last Sunday (31/5) in São Januário. The players will reappear on the next day 22 in the City of Galo to start the training sessions. There will be almost 30 days of training until the return of the season.
